Profession Changes in WoW Forever

WoW Forever keeps the classic professions, but Blizzard adds a lot on top: over 600 new recipes across professions and level ranges, two new profession factions with their own currency, crafted food that can grant a small experience bonus, profession workspaces at camps, and Legacy challenges for crafting. Here's everything Blizzard has confirmed so far.

Over 600 new recipes

According to Blizzard, WoW Forever adds "over 600 new recipes across professions and level ranges". In the game data we count 899 recipes with a new Forever ID – a different count, because it also includes reworked Classic recipes (per game data). All recipes with their sources: Recipes in WoW Forever.

New profession factions and Merchant's Favor

Blizzard introduces two profession factions, described as "a major source of new tradeskill activities": the Azeroth Commerce Authority for the Alliance and Durotar Supply and Logistics for the Horde. Their currency and reputation is called Merchant's Favor.

Food with an XP bonus

Cooking gets more useful while leveling: Blizzard has adjusted crafted food so it "can grant a small experience bonus and stat boosts". More: Cooking.

Camping and profession workspaces

According to Blizzard, camps offer "vendors, repairs, profession workspaces, and one-hour buffs". The first camp objects unlock at profession skill 20 through starting-zone quests or trainers, more from skill 140 in dungeons and raids. Cooks can learn upgraded campfires that allow 5 or even 10 objects, and you get the buffs after sitting or crafting at the camp for at least one minute. Examples from Blizzard: a Sharpening Wheel for blacksmiths (attack power), a Faction Banner for tailors (spirit) and an Incense Candle for herbalists (intellect). Everything about camps: Camping.

Legacy challenges and perks for professions

Professions count in the Legacy system: reaching 150, 225 and 300 in a non-gathering primary profession are challenges, and 150 in such a profession can even unlock Legacy. Two Legacy perks help traders: Performance Bonus (more Merchant's Favor) and Bartering (cheaper vendor prices).

Vendor prices and late herbs

Blizzard's beta notes (October 1, 8 and 16, 2026) lowered the vendor price of many crafted items; crafted wands now sell for 5 copper to 25 silver depending on tier. Enchanting materials such as Strange Dust sell for 1 copper, according to the game data. For Herbalism, the notes (Thu, Sep 24) say herbs that need more than 300 Herbalism skill can only be cultivated at player level 60. Ways to earn gold anyway: Making gold.
