WoW Forever Transmog: Rules and Collecting

What's official

• Transmog is optional, and you can turn it off. official
• Classic Mode turns transmog off. Your appearances are still collected. official

• Collections are account-wide, just like Legacy. official

According to fan sites

• Turning it off is free at a transmogrifier in Stormwind City or Orgrimmar. per fan sites
• In dungeons, green and blue drops unlock the appearance for your whole group. Epic items only unlock it for the player who gets the item. per fan sites
• To use an appearance, you need the right level, and you can only transmog into the same item type. per fan sites
• Sources differ slightly on the quality limit, so these details are still uncertain.

Still open

Blizzard hasn't confirmed what transmog costs, where all the transmogrifiers are, or whether Hardcore characters can use appearances from other rulesets. We'll add it once it's known.
