Contribute data
While you play, our addons anonymously collect what the game client shows: items, quests, NPCs, vendors and loot. Upload the file here and Eternadex gets more accurate for everyone. Every file gives us more drop chances, sources and quest texts.
Why contribute?
A database is only as good as its data. Much of WoW Forever is not in the game files: how often a boss drops a certain item, where a rare enemy spawns, what a vendor sells or what a new quest says. You can only see that in the game. That is why our addons record what your game client shows anyway while you play, and you decide whether to share it. Every file makes Eternadex more accurate for everyone:
- Drop chances become reliable. We only show percentages once there are enough observations.
- Locations of enemies, vendors and chests become complete.
- Quest texts in every client language fill the gaps.
- New items that so far only exist on the server get into the database with real stats.
Data from the first weeks after launch on November 4, 2026 is especially valuable, when everyone sees the new zones and dungeons for the first time.
How it works
- Play with one of our addons, for example EternaDex Meter. Data collection runs automatically in the background.
- Exit the game normally; the file is only saved then.
- In your game folder, open
WTF\Account\<your account>\SavedVariables\. The game folder is, for example,World of Warcraft\_classic_\, or_classic_beta_in the beta. - Drag the file
EternaDexMeter.lua, or several files from our addons at once (for example from several accounts), into the box below. You will see what will be sent before anything is uploaded.
Upload file
The file is first read only in your browser. Only the data section of our addons is sent, meaning game data without character, guild or account names, and only after you click. Quest texts from older addon versions are removed before uploading, because they might contain your character name. Each account is sent as its own package. If you upload again later, it only replaces the previous data of the same account. More in our privacy policy.
What is collected and what is not
Collected is game data only: items, quests, enemies, vendors and loot, each with location and time. Not collected are character names, guild names, account names, chat messages or data about other players.
Uploading is anonymous. Your file is first read only in your browser. Only after you click is the collection part sent; the rest of the file never leaves your computer. If you upload a new file later, it replaces your previous data, so there are no duplicate entries.
Taking part is voluntary. The addon itself never sends data to the internet: nothing is transferred unless you upload the file on this page.
Contributing: frequently asked questions
Is uploading really anonymous?
Yes. Only the collection part of the file is sent, without character, guild or account names. The file is checked in your browser first.
Where do I find the file?
In your game folder under WTF\Account\<your account>\SavedVariables\. Exit the game normally first; the file is only saved then.
How often should I upload?
As often as you like, for example once a week or after a long session. Each upload replaces your previous data.
Can I choose not to take part?
Of course. If you do not upload a file, nothing is transferred. The addons work normally without an upload.
