Finding a Group in WoW Forever

How groups work in WoW Forever

• Same ruleset only: groups, dungeons, raids, mail and guilds only work within the same ruleset (Normal, PvP, RP, Hardcore). official
• Same faction only: Horde and Alliance can't group up. official
• Language: set your preferred online language under Options > Language and Social. The game uses it to bring together players who speak the same language. It's account-wide and can be changed once every 24 hours. official
• Voice chat: in the beta, groups got a Discord voice chat option and language hints (as of Oct 8). official

Four ways to find a group

1. The Group Finder with its dungeon list. Post what you're looking for, for example dungeon, role and level, or browse other players' listings. If your group members have different levels, the list updates which dungeons fit the group. The "Show All Level Ranges" checkbox shows the rest as well. official
2. Chat. In cities and in your zone, a short line is enough: "LF2M Wailing Caverns, need healer + DPS". Common abbreviations: LFG = looking for group, LFM = looking for more (players), DPS = damage dealer.
3. Guild. The easiest way to run dungeons regularly. A guild that plays at the same times as you is worth more than any finder.
4. Players from your quests. If someone has done the same quests next to you for an hour, ask them. Group quests and dungeon runs often happen exactly like that.

Before you head to the dungeon

• Pick up the quests first. Many dungeon quests start outside the dungeon, often in a different zone: dungeon quests checklist.
• Check the level range: Dungeons by level.
• Agree on loot rules before the first boss.
• Travel together. Without a teleport, everyone has to get to the entrance, so plan the trip.

What we don't know yet

• Meeting stones: in Classic, these stones in front of dungeons helped with grouping. Whether and how they work in WoW Forever isn't confirmed.
• Teleporting into dungeons: not announced. According to fan sites, there's no automatic dungeon finder that teleports you in.
• Cross-realm groups: WoW Forever has no classic realms, only rulesets per region. How far the Group Finder reaches hasn't been officially explained.
