FAQ
Do I need an attunement for Onyxia in WoW Forever?
Yes. Per the developer podcast (episode 3 of Oct 8, 2026, via a summary), Onyxia's Lair still requires a long attunement quest chain, just like in Classic.
Does the attunement apply to the whole account?
No. At launch, the attunement is per character, not account-wide. This also comes from the developer podcast summary.
Do Barrow Deeps and Hyjal Summit need an attunement?
No, these two new raids have no attunement quest chain. However, the developers hinted at additional steps for the full experience.
What level can I start at?
The Alliance chain starts at level 48, the Horde chain at level 55. The group steps in the dungeons are designed for level 60.
Which dungeons do I need?
Alliance: Blackrock Depths (5 players) and upper Blackrock Spire (10 players). Horde: lower and upper Blackrock Spire.
What do I get at the end?
The Drakefire Amulet, which lets you enter Onyxia's Lair. In Classic it had to be in your bags. There's no word yet on whether Forever will change this.
When does Onyxia's Lair open?
The first raids open on Dec 9, 2026. So far, only the roadmap slide shows Onyxia as part of that date.
