Best professions for each class

The Classic rule of thumb: gathering professions for leveling, then a profession that fits your class at level 60. Recipes may differ in WoW Forever, so check the recipe lists in the profession guides.

New in the beta data: Enchanting makes relics, for example Libram of Invocation, Idol of the Ursine Twins, Totem of Ancestral Protection. That makes the profession more interesting for Paladins, Druids and Shamans. unconfirmed

FAQ

Which professions are the best in WoW Forever?

It depends on your goal. For leveling, two gathering professions are easiest: they make gold and cost nothing. At level 60 in Classic, Alchemy, Engineering and Enchanting are in especially high demand. WoW Forever adds over 600 new recipes, so that balance may shift.

How many professions can I learn?

Two primary professions, same as Classic. You can also learn the secondary professions Cooking, First Aid and Fishing.

Which professions go well together?

The usual pairs combine a gathering and a crafting profession: Mining with Blacksmithing or Engineering, Herbalism with Alchemy, Skinning with Leatherworking. Tailoring and Enchanting don't need a gathering profession.

Who makes healing potions in WoW Forever?

In the beta data it's First Aid, from Minor to Major Healing Potion, plus anti-venoms, poultices and tourniquets. Alchemists only make discolored healing potions. This may still change before launch.

Are professions worth it for the Legacy System?

Yes. Reaching skill 150, 225 and 300 in each crafting profession grants one Legacy point each, 18 points total. Skill 150 in a single crafting profession is enough to unlock the system.
