Riding in WoW Forever: Level, Cost and Mounts
In WoW Forever you can ride at level 40 and ride fast at level 60. This page covers what riding costs, where to learn it, each race's mounts and how Paladins, Warlocks and PvP players get theirs. Values from the game data are labeled as such.

Level and vendor price come from the game data: normal mounts require level 40, fast mounts level 60. Prices are before reputation discounts. Blizzard hasn't published training costs yet; the amounts come from the beta and fan sites.
How to learn riding
- There's one shared skill, Riding, for all mounts. The game data only has two ranks: Apprentice Riding (riding skill 75) and Journeyman Riding (riding skill 150). per game data
- You get your first mount as soon as you learn riding, like in Burning Crusade. There's no flying. official
- You learn riding from your race's riding trainer. Once you're Exalted with another race of your faction, its trainer will teach you too. per fan sites
- At Honored with your home faction, training and mounts are 10% cheaper. per fan sites
- Skyborne learn riding in their starting zone, Zephras Isle. per fan sites
- Paladins and Warlocks get their mount through a class quest (see below). per fan sites
Saving gold for riding
- Start saving gold at level 30. Per fan sites, training plus mount comes to about 120 gold at level 40. unconfirmed
- For fast riding at level 60, fan sites expect about 1,200 gold. That is the big gold goal after leveling. unconfirmed

Racial mounts
★ new in the WoW Forever game data. The list shows the racial vendor mounts from Classic plus new mounts of the same type from the game data. Which ones vendors will actually sell at launch isn't confirmed yet. unconfirmed
Skyborne mounts
- The Skyborne have their own riding type, Galestrider Riding, the same for the Horde (Windshapers) and the Alliance (High Order). The game data has four normal and four fast variants. per game data
- The Skyborne are a paid race: you need at least the Skyborne Heroic Pack. It includes the mount Cerulean Prideclaw ★; you still learn the riding skill in the game. official

Class mounts
Paladin
- Summon Warhorse at level 40: quest The Tome of Nobility (from different trainers depending on your race, e.g. The Tome of Nobility). per game data
- Summon Charger at level 60: a long quest chain that starts with Lord Grayson Shadowbreaker and ends with Judgment and Redemption, including a visit to Scholomance. per game data
- New in Forever: Undead Paladins. Whether the Horde gets its own mount quest chain isn't known yet; so far our quest data only shows the Alliance chains. unconfirmed
Warlock
- Summon Felsteed at level 40: quest from the Warlock trainer, e.g. Summon Felsteed (Horde) or Summon Felsteed (Alliance). per game data
- Summon Dreadsteed at level 60: quest chain with a ritual in Dire Maul, finishing with Dreadsteed of Xoroth. per game data
These quests come from our Classic data; whether Blizzard changed them for Forever isn't confirmed yet. unconfirmed

- PvP rewards mounts starting at rank 11. official

Mount speed bonuses
- Carrot on a Stick: trinket, mount speed +3%. per game data
- Gift of Galloping ★: mount speed +10% for 15 days, stacks with all other bonuses. Per beta screenshots, it costs 150 gold on the black market in Riverglades. per fan sites

At what level can you ride in WoW Forever?
At level 40. Fast riding unlocks at level 60. The game data matches: normal mounts require level 40, fast mounts level 60.
How much does riding cost in WoW Forever?
Blizzard hasn't announced official prices. Per the beta and fan sites, training costs about 100 gold at level 40 and 1,000 gold at level 60. Per the game data, additional mounts cost 20 gold or 200 gold. At Honored with your home faction you get a 10% discount.
Do I get a mount when I learn riding?
Yes. In WoW Forever you get your first mount right when you learn riding, much like in Burning Crusade.
Can you fly in WoW Forever?
No. There are only ground mounts; top speed comes from fast riding at level 60.
How do Paladins and Warlocks get their mount?
Through class quests: the first mount at level 40, the epic one at level 60. The quests in our database are the Classic versions.
What mounts do the Skyborne ride?
They have their own riding type, Galestrider Riding, the same for the Horde and the Alliance. Buyers of the Skyborne Heroic Pack also get the mount Cerulean Prideclaw.
Are there PvP mounts in WoW Forever?
Yes, starting at PvP rank 11. Blizzard hasn't shown exactly which mounts.
