Shaman Leveling Guide 1–60 for WoW Forever
Enhancement with a slow two-handed weapon gets the most out of weapon imbues and totems and deals very steady damage while leveling. Starting at level 41, your points go into Elemental for stronger shocks and more crit.
Talents and abilities on this page come from the WoW Forever game data. The tips are based on Classic experience, so values and details may differ in Forever.

What changes for leveling in WoW Forever
- Totems last five minutes and have only a one-second global cooldown. Totemic Recall brings them back.
- Windfury Weapon and Flametongue Weapon work as party-wide buffs.
- Weapon imbues last 60 minutes instead of 5.
Per Blizzard's class preview, as of the beta. All changes for the Shaman
Leveling tips
- Early on you fight with Lightning Bolt at range and Rockbiter Weapon in melee. Later you switch to Flametongue Weapon and, at level 30, to Windfury Weapon.
- Keep Lightning Shield up. Earth Shock interrupts spells, Flame Shock deals damage over time.
- Totems cost mana: drop Searing Totem and Strength of Earth Totem mainly for longer fights or multiple mobs; Stoneclaw Totem draws mobs off you.
- At level 20, Ghost Wolf saves a lot of travel time, and Healing Wave or Lesser Healing Wave keep you topped up.
- Enhancement needs a slow two-handed weapon; in Forever, two-handed axes and maces no longer require a talent. Mental Dexterity turns your Intellect into attack power and is one of the first talents to take.
- Reincarnation lets you get right back up after dying. In Classic this cost a reagent; this may differ in Forever.
- In Classic, totems came from class quests (Earth at level 4, Fire at 10, Water at 20, Air at 30). Your trainer will tell you whether Forever works the same way.
- Mining and Blacksmithing or Skinning and Leatherworking are a good fit; First Aid saves mana.
