Priest Leveling Guide 1–60 for WoW Forever
Your first points go into Wand Specialization, then into Shadow: damage over time, mana regen after every kill and later Shadowform. The rest goes into Discipline for a stronger shield and more mana.
Talents and abilities on this page come from the WoW Forever game data. The tips are based on Classic experience, so values and details may differ in Forever.

Leveling tips
- Basic routine: Power Word: Shield on yourself, Shadow Word: Pain, Mind Blast, then wand the target down. This saves a lot of mana.
- A good wand is your most important weapon while leveling, which is why your first talent points go into Wand Specialization.
- The talent Spirit Tap briefly boosts your spirit after a kill, so you regen mana faster and need little downtime.
- Psychic Scream buys you breathing room when two mobs are on you. Careful: fleeing mobs can pull more.
- Always keep Inner Fire and Power Word: Fortitude up; Renew and Flash Heal usually cover your healing while leveling.
- Per the game data, you can learn Mind Flay from your trainer. It slows the target and is a good finisher against melee mobs.
- Groups and dungeons always want healers. A second set with healing stats is worth it for dungeons, even if you play Shadow solo.
- Tailoring suits a Priest well, since you loot cloth anyway. Enchanting pairs nicely with it, for example for making your own wands.
