Rogue Leveling Guide 1–60 for WoW Forever
Combat with a sword or axe is the easiest and fastest way to level a Rogue: lots of damage without relying on stealth, plus talents for fighting multiple mobs. Starting at level 41, your points go into Assassination for more crit and stronger finishers.
Talents and abilities on this page come from the WoW Forever game data. The tips are based on Classic experience, so values and details may differ in Forever.

What changes for leveling in WoW Forever

- Sap no longer breaks your stealth.
Per Blizzard's class preview, as of the beta. All changes for the Rogue
Leveling tips
- Build combo points with Sinister Strike, use Slice and Dice for extra attack speed and finish with Eviscerate.
- Sneak up with Stealth and open with Cheap Shot, or, with a dagger, with Ambush or Backstab from behind.
- Combat works best with swords or axes, where Hack and Slash triggers extra attacks. With daggers or fist weapons it grants more crit, and with maces armor penetration.
- When things get dicey, use Evasion, Gouge and Sprint, with Vanish as a last resort. Kick interrupts enemy casts.
- Sap takes one mob out of a group before the pull, so you never fight several at once.
- Energy regenerates at a steady rate, so only open with a full bar. With no self-healing, First Aid and food are a must.
- In Classic, Rogues unlocked poisons at level 20 through a class quest. According to Blizzard, poisons in Forever hold more charges and stack with a sharpening stone; the Assassination talent Venom empowers them further.
- Skinning and Leatherworking or two gathering professions are a good fit. Lockpicking opens the lockboxes you find along the way.
