Protection Warrior Talents & Build – Raid for WoW Forever
Protection Warriors tank with a shield and a one-handed weapon. Shield Slam is your strongest threat attack, Bastion increases your damage while a shield is equipped, Shield Specialization and Master of Defense generate rage when you block, dodge and parry, and Last Stand saves you in emergencies.

Raid Build (PvE)
Deep Protection build down to Shield Slam with Bastion, Defiance for more threat, Focused Rage for cheaper attacks and Anticipation for more defense. Outside Protection you pick up Deflection for more parry and Cruelty for more crit.

Playstyle and rotation
Build threat with Shield Slam, Revenge and Sunder Armor; dump excess rage into Heroic Strike. Shield Block helps against heavy hits and enables Revenge. On multiple enemies, use Thunder Clap (which in Forever also works in Defensive Stance), Demoralizing Shout and Cleave. With Vanguard you can also Charge in Defensive Stance. For emergencies you have Shield Wall and Last Stand, and Taunt pulls enemies back.
Stat priority
For Protection Warrior, the key stats are Stamina, armor and defense, so bosses can't crit you. Next come dodge, parry and block; hit and Strength help you generate threat. This priority comes from Classic; stat weights in WoW Forever may differ.

Protection Warrior: Which build is best for PvP?
Protection Warrior is built mainly for dungeons and raids, so we only show a raid build here. For PvP, another spec of the class is usually the better choice, and you can adjust the build freely in the talent calculator.
