Making Gold with Alchemy in WoW Forever

How to Make Gold with Alchemy

• Potions, elixirs and flasks are consumables: raiders and PvP players buy them again and again. from Classic
• Herbalism supplies the herbs. If you have both professions, your herbs cost you nothing. from Classic
• The vendor price is the floor: in-demand items usually sell for a lot more on the Auction House. Check current Auction House prices before crafting in bulk. from Classic
• While leveling a profession, the mats usually cost more than the results bring in. Your real gold comes from the recipes other players actually need. from Classic

Recipes with Vendor Profit

How we calculate it: the vendor price of the result (times the number made per craft) minus what the mats themselves would sell for at a vendor. A positive profit means crafting and vendoring earns more than vendoring the mats directly.

43 of 174 recipes with a vendor price turn a profit, 131 don't. If you buy mats from a vendor or the Auction House, you pay more than their vendor price. So the profit shown is a floor for vendoring, not an Auction House price.

What Other Professions Need from You

You make these items with Alchemy, and other professions use them as mats. The number shows how many recipes call for them.
