How to get around in WoW Forever
According to Blizzard, WoW Forever adds three ship routes: from Stormwind Harbor straight to Auberdine, a second route between Menethil, Southshore and Auberdine, and a route from the Steamwheedle port in Tanaris to Powderfuse Port in the Riverglades. Every other route, like zeppelins, the Deeprun Tram and portals, works as in Classic; Blizzard hasn't announced any changes.
The new ship routes
- Stormwind Harbor ↔ Auberdine: according to Blizzard, an early path between the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor.
- Menethil, Southshore and Auberdine: according to Blizzard, another route with more flexibility for leveling. These are Alliance towns, so in our assessment the route mainly helps the Alliance.
- Steamwheedle port (Tanaris) → Powderfuse Port (Riverglades): according to Blizzard, the new Steamwheedle Cartel route. According to the game data, Powderfuse is a cartel port, so it's neutral like Booty Bay and Ratchet.
Blizzard hasn't given schedules or the order of the stops.
How to get to Dalaran
The City of Dalaran is a dungeon for levels 28 to 33 in the Alterac Mountains. According to Blizzard, the attunement starts in Southshore for the Alliance and in Tarren Mill for the Horde. According to the game data, there's no flight point to Dalaran. Since the development notes of October 15, the Horde is attacked in the open city of Dalaran, but access to the dungeon remains. Alliance Skyborne arrive in Dalaran directly by skyship after their starting zone. More: City of Dalaran.
Getting to Darnassus
As in Classic, a ship sails from Auberdine in Darkshore to Rut'theran on Teldrassil, and from there a portal takes you up to Darnassus. Coming from the Eastern Kingdoms, you can now also take the new ship from Stormwind Harbor to Auberdine, according to Blizzard. More: Darnassus.
How to get to Mount Hyjal
Blizzard hasn't said when the Mount Hyjal zone opens or what level it's for. According to Blizzard, the zone includes a journey through Darkwhisper Gorge, which lies in Winterspring according to the game data. Blizzard hasn't shown the exact route yet. According to Blizzard, the new Hyjal Summit raid opens on December 9. More: Mount Hyjal.
Zeppelins, tram and portals
As in Classic, zeppelins run between Orgrimmar and Undercity, Orgrimmar and Grom'gol in Stranglethorn Vale, and Undercity and Grom'gol. The Deeprun Tram connects Stormwind and Ironforge, and a neutral ship runs between Ratchet and Booty Bay. Thunder Bluff has no zeppelin; you get there through the Barrens and Mulgore. Horde Skyborne land in Mulgore by skyship. According to the game data, Mages can teleport to their faction's capitals and open portals from level 40, to Darnassus and Thunder Bluff only from level 50. Blizzard hasn't announced any changes.
