Blizzard publishes a New Player's Starter Guide for WoW Forever
On Wednesday, October 28, Blizzard published a New Player's Starter Guide for WoW Forever. It covers the first steps from your account to your first group. Some points in it are new or now officially confirmed:
- Roleplay-PvP at launch: According to Blizzard, the Normal, PvP, Roleplay and Roleplay-PvP rulesets are available from launch. Hardcore comes later.
- Experience Preset: The first time you log in, you choose Classic or Enhanced, before you pick your ruleset. Classic starts with Standard Definition models and with quest objective markers, One-bag and transmog turned off. Enhanced starts with High Definition models and these features on. If you're unsure, Blizzard recommends Enhanced. You can change each setting later under Game Menu > Options.
- HD or SD per character: You pick this every time you create a character, and you can change it later in the options or at a Barbershop. It only affects appearance.
- Controller: According to Blizzard, controller support is available in a beta state. You play on Windows or Mac.
- Professions: Each character can learn two primary professions and all three secondary professions: Cooking, Fishing and First Aid.
- Playing together: Groups, guilds, dungeons and raids only work with the same faction and the same ruleset. Agree on both before you create your characters.
